Salisbury Cathedral’s summer contemporary art exhibition brings together six artists who explore water as a symbol and an influence that shapes our world. Participating artists are Ro Robertson, Lubaina Himid RA, William Pye, Ryan Mosley, Joy Hillyer, Kate McMillan, Phoebe Boswell

Paintings in mixed media by Joy Hillyer and three other artists which explore ideas of fluidity and transition; the essence of water and its resonances in the environment. Hillyer’s paintings have their origin in the Ebble, one of Salisbury’s chalk rivers.

A series of Joy Hillyer’s paintings that take their inspiration from glimpses of the Alpine landscape, capturing the revelation of colour and light outside the refuge while leaving an ambiguity about the darkness of the shelter.
